Grilled portobello mushrooms, layered with butter lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and mayonnaise makes a perfect picnic meal.
Preheat an outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high.
Brush the mushrooms with olive oil on both sides and grill just until fork-tender, 4-5 minutes per side.


Brush the mushrooms with BBQ sauce and season to taste with salt and pepper. Grill for another 1-2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on each burger bun, top with the BBQ grilled mushroom, lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, red onion, and pickles.
