Put anything on a skewer and it just becomes a fascinating and exciting recipe! Get ready to make this super easy yet fun dessert recipe which will be loved by kids and grown ups equally.

Ingredients:

1 Pound cake, homemade or store-bought
2 c. Fresh pineapple chunks (cut into a big chunks)
3 c. Strawberries, tops removed and halved (choose the bigger ones)
1 c. Heavy whipping cream
3 T. Powdered sugar
1 t. Pure vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat an indoor grill pan or outdoor grill to medium heat.
  2. Cut the pound cake into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Thread onto BBQ skewers, alternating with strawberries and pineapple chunks in between.  
  4. Grill on an outdoor grill or on a lightly greased grill pan until light grill marks form and the fruit begins to soften, 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. In a large bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract; continue to mix until incorporated. 
  6. Serve the grilled pound cake and fruit with fresh whipped cream.
  7. Enjoy!
