Hey there, fellow food enthusiasts! Today, I’m sharing a game-changer in the comfort food world – my mMac and Cheese with Lager recipe. Brace yourselves for a journey into a world where the creamy indulgence of mac and cheese meets the bold, robust kick of lager beer. This is not your average mac and cheese; this is flavor-packed experience that will have you coming back for seconds.

Let’s start with the basics: A generous pat of butter melting in a hot pan, infusing the kitchen with that oh-so-comforting aroma. Now, picture pouring in a good glug of lager – that’s the secret weapon with the milk and salt and pepper. It adds a depth to the cheese sauce that takes this mac and cheese to a whole new level.

Next up: The macaroni takes a hot tub dip in a pot of simmering milk and lager, cooking up to al dente perfection. While that’s going on, let’s talk cheese. We’re not playing around here. Cheddar and Mozzarella for that gooey and elastic pull, fontina for a touch of sophistication. The trio blends into a cheese symphony that will make you rethink what mac and cheese can be.

The grand finale: Once the macaroni is cozy in the cheese sauce, it all goes into a baking dish. But wait, we’re not done. A generous shower of breadcrumbs, garlic, butter and parmesan goes on top, creating a golden, crispy crust that’s like a flavor surprise with every bite. Into the oven it goes, and that’s when the magic happens. The aroma that fills your kitchen is like a warm hug, letting you know something delicious is on the horizon.

NOTE: This recipe calls for lager which has a strong beer flavor. Feel free to substitute a pale ale or wheat beer if you prefer a more subtle beer flavor. Regardless of what beer you choose, be sure to make it one you enjoy drinking by itself since the sauce will carry that flavor.
