This Tropical Papaya Detox Smoothie is made with ripe, juicy papaya and blended with banana, coconut milk, protein powder and turmeric powder. Itโs a delicious antioxidant-rich smoothie thatโs vegan and naturally gluten-free!ย
Papayaย is a tropical fruit and the tree yields fruit almost throughout year. In Indian cuisine, ripe papayas are a much-loved fruit and so is the unripe/green one. We use it in curries and salads. I have a couple of such recipes too which I will be sharing with you soon. The papaya is packed with vital minerals, vitamins and other nutrients. Consider including papaya in your diet if you arenโt already doing so.
I have used banana with papaya to create a thicker consistency but you may choose to use frozen mango or orange juice too. We like our smoothies to be a bit sweet so I add honey you may skip it to keep carb counts low, as per request from the younglings in the home otherwise they just donโt drink them. P.S. If you are making this smoothie for kids, then I would advise to skip using the protein powder and add few dates instead.
